I would say the best bet is to talk to the local sportings good store, they should know, or check with the local Wildlife and Fish agency, they would know for sure. Also sounds like the Foerestry Dept. could help!

The Division of Fish Game and Wildlife or what ever it is called in your state. Also there should be a rule or game laws booklet you receive when you purchase your license. Sorry Meister didn' t see your post.

Having lived in the Chula Vista, Ca. area for over 20 years before moving back to Pa. I always traveled back here to hunt deer. You are probably hunting the Laguna Mtn or Pine Valley area? I left there in ' 96 but at that time most of that area was posted ' no trespassing' by absentee owners protecting their butts from law suit. I would check as the other guys said but keep in mind the trees that you are screwing them into. Back here a decent single veneer cherry tree is worth $3k-$5k, once you screw a single step into it it is worth about 10% of that. Being a hunter myself I would not be sympathetic to anyone screwing steps into my cherry trees![:@]
