Today was a busy day. I recently acquired 294 acres in New York to hunt. So today was the maiden scouting/posting trip. I got up around 6am, loaded the wheeler and grabbed all the essentials and away I went. I came across lots of deer sign, good rubs, active scrapes and heavily used game trails. I never came home until 5pm and do I feel it !!!

I am leaving Friday for a South Dakota Deer hunt and for some reason I am really excited about getting on this piece and hunting.

All in all, I found some good possible stand locations (2 for sure) and I will be putting up my camera to "watch" what is using those trails. Hopefully I get a picture of the buck that has been rubbing near the clearcut.

Should be a good season, and oh yea, found some good bear sign as well...

I just can't decide if I want to hunt somewhat close to the edges or dive right into the thick of it towards the back. Going in the back, I will walk down an old logging trail right thru the thick of it all....what are your suggestions ?????????????
