Default Some Decoy questions.

Would using a decoy this early in the season yield any results? I live south of Indianapolis Indiana. If I do use a decoy should I use a buck or doe? And should it be used in the morning or evening? Any help would be awesome.

Uh well, Depends on what you are seeing. I used a doe decoy because it's all I had. It worked out for me but it won't every time. Does are curious and usually real wary of doe decoys. I have heard they will alot of times ignore buck decoys. If your buck hunting I would go to a buck decoy. Placed correctly keep it human scent free and see what happens. It's all trial and error, kinda early to really expect great results. Good luck.

I've used buck decoy and a buck with a doe setup with some success but its around the rut. I've heard that a single doe decoy will put other doe on alert rather than draw them in.

Ok thanks guys. I might try it this evening with only one antler. I keep seeing a really nice buck on the far side of the field I hunt over (around 200yds away). He definitly not a old dominant buck but he is a shooter in my book. I think I'll try the decoy see if I can get him to cross the field.
