Just want to take a vote to see opinions on deer "attractants." I'll post my opinion later. So, here's the question:

"Do you thinkC'mere Deer or other deer attractants are stillfair chase? And are they really legal in your state?"

C'mere deer doesn't work anyway, so whats the difference?

I just got off the phone with Hank Parker, he says it's fair chase.

I really don't have an opinion one way or the otherdue to the fact that I simply don't care if someone uses it or not. I can say that I'venever used the stuff.

I'm just curious about one thing: Ifsomeone believes that a hunter in the middle of, oh, let's say 25,000 acres of public land who puts C'mere Deer down is suddenly not hunting fair chase, where does that someone draw the line? In this line of reasoning, there has to be a line that one crosses at some point that turns "fair chase" into something else,so where would it be? No planting food plots? No scent lures? No rattling or grunt calls allowed? No camoflage allowed? No compound bows?

At what point does "fair chase" become "not fair chase"?

We've used C'mere Deer in the spring and summer in order to attract deer to new food plots or mineral stations. However, putting it out during hunting season doesn't seem any different to me than dumping a pile of corn under your stand. To each his own though.

Well one of my buddies uses this stuff similar to C'Mere Deer which is called Deer Co Cain. Its a liquid that you put on the ground by the base of a tree and the deer have about a 5 inch hole in the ground about 10 inches wide. All they are eating is dirt and roots! He took a huge doe the first day of the season and every time i go by there, there is always deer there. I just don't see it fair chase. Is it not baiting? Baiting is illegal in PA but i don't know what they consider baiting. I just can't bring myself to use that stuff or even hunt out of his stand when he tells me to.
