I've seen deer that were killed and had been shot/injured and had lost entie limbs only to have them heal over and survuve. My cousin killed a buck that was missing his rear right leg from an old wound. the deer seemed fine except mal formed antlers. They're amazingly tough and resilient.

It is possible (and I emphasizepossible) that it wasn't a hunter at all. Deer get injured in all sorts of situations (fences, cars, debris dumped in the woods). Just a thought.

If suffering, I would take her out if I had the chance, and I only have one tag for the year. I would then promptly call the DNR to explain what had happenedto come get her if they wantedso I didn't have to use that tag.
