I've seen deer that were killed and had been shot/injured and had lost entie limbs only to have them heal over and survuve. My cousin killed a buck that was missing his rear right leg from an old wound. the deer seemed fine except mal formed antlers. They're amazingly tough and resilient.
The Whitetail are amazing survivors!!! Its awesome
Amen to that brother.

It is possible (and I emphasizepossible) that it wasn't a hunter at all. Deer get injured in all sorts of situations (fences, cars, debris dumped in the woods). Just a thought.

If suffering, I would take her out if I had the chance, and I only have one tag for the year. I would then promptly call the DNR to explain what had happenedto come get her if they wantedso I didn't have to use that tag.

The deer are out of control over here. I've seen 38 deer so far in 4 mornings and 2 evenings hunting. That would be about 10 bucks and 28 Does. Almost a 3:1 ratio.
