Default How High Can They Strike???

i was just wondering somethin guys i hunt in some pretty thick woods and here in south georgia that is perfect rattlesnake habitat. i wear knee high snakeboots, but somehow i have to believe a five foot long diamondback can strike higher that your knee...am i right or wrong here? how high can they bust you?

They can strike about half again there body length. When they coil its hard to tell there striking distance and it helps them strike.

A big diamond back can easily strike you in your thigh if it wants to. Thankfully they seldom will and prefer to get away rather than stand and fight.
