I hate being off my feet. I can't stand still for more than a minute. So this is killing me. I've got to do something. I need to make a stand for my bow press. That shouldn't hurt anything...... right?

Alright, now first and foremost, the "HUMERUS" is in your ARM, not your leg.

Ok, now that we got that out of the way, Charlie is RIGHT, you CAN do much more damage, DO NOT gimp around on it!!!! Use crutches, and remember that "If it hurts, it's probably damaging something!!!!" You're body is smarter than you!!!!

You sure it's not just a meniscus tear?
I tore mine last August, dealt with the pain and went hunting. Had the surgery this past February. The Doctor told me as long as I could take the pain, I could hold off with the surgery. He said to make sure I only made controled movement that I could stop if I happen to get pain. He also said no climbing
. He said if the tear got worse it was no big deal, he would take care of it also. Had the MRI and everything right away though.
I'd advise also to get one of the coolers that pump ice water into a pad on your knee. THey work great. Way better then pure ice.

I tore my ACL and meniscus onSept. 27th of 2004 playing in a softball game[:@]. Man that sh*t hurts!!! Thought my deer season was over. I went and got my MRI done as quickly as possible and then had the surgery 2 weeks later. Surgery went great and was on rest fora little undera month. Got the staples out and put the camo on. FYI, camo duct tape works great on covering up crutches
. I was out in the ground blind by the end of Nov. Ended up taking a doe and a small 9pt that year. Hope it turns out that it's only the meniscus, but I think you'll still be able toget out this season. Goodluck to you!

ya not fun man....I am 3 months out of my surgery for Torn ACl, MCl, Lateral Meniscus, Carteledge(Sp?), and Fractures of my patella, Lower Femur, and upper tibia......Got kicked in the side of the knee whilst trying to make a hard cut in a soccer game.....I feel your pain. Brought the soccer career to an abrupt end and put the firefighting on hold for about 8 months.

That's so untrue, you can do a ton more damage.
Most likely you'll have some time before the surgery and you won't be able tohurt yourself more.
