I'm not a doctor so I'm not going to venture a guess at what you did mess up. I wish you a speedy recovery and I hope you can figure out a way to get in the woods this fall.

with a torn ACL you dont need to walk with crutches....but that is about all the leneancy you get. Anything else and you risk putting more strain on your PCL....which is the other one in the middle of your knee. That one pops too.....you are gonna be stuck wherever it happened until someone carries you back....Even if you try to hop on one foot...just the bouncing of a disconnected knee is gonna hurt like you wouldn't believe.

Yeah when it happened man it hurt. I could even get up. If it wasn't for my son being home. I would have been screwed. I'm really hoping that I can get it taken care of fast. I've been watching all the hunting shows I could for the last 2 months. Man I was ready to go out yesterday. I'm jonesing to get out hunting. Oh well not really alot I can do about it now.

Hey thanks guy's for all the support. I really appreciate it. Oh and sorry for the humerus bone thing. Oh it's the fibula and tibia....... right? LOL

SORRY COULDN'T HELP MYSELF!
femur is comparable bone in leg ( thigh); tib / fib are lower leg
LET US KNOW how the MRI turns out.
hope you have a speedy recovery.
make wise choices on what you do, would suck to damage it more and mess up more than this hunting season.get it healed up properly and do physical therapy as the orthopod requests.

How come so many injuries and sicknesses arrive just in time for hunting season. I can go a year without getting a cold and BOOM just when it's time to get out there I get sick.

DON'T write off your season yet. I was back in a tree 4 days after my last back surgery and even killed a deer. I did not however try and drag it out which is always fine with me.

Get an MRI!!! It will tell you everything you need to know. An ACL tear is bad, I know i suffered one in college. However you can still walk on it. Yes you can do more damage if your not being smart. I had a tear in my acl and continued to play ball in college, I ended up causing the ACL to completely explode also causeing my TFL to get torn along with my Maniscus. Severe damage occured. I had everything just about torn out and replaced, thank god the school paid that bill.

long story short dont take chances but you can still hunt in ground blind for a short while if your careful. Know your body
