Head shots on mountain lions
#1
I was at the range today, and there was a paper traget of a cougar, about a 20 yard shot. My second shot hit it straight in the forehead. I was wondering if this would drop a cougar in its tracks. My current set-up is a Browning compound set at about 55 lbs. Using 100 grain 3-blade Dead Head broadheads. Arrows are XX75 aluminum. I' m not planning on a cougar hunt, I just was wondering when I saw where the arrow hit. [8D]

A more deadly tactic would be to grab him by the fur on the back of his neck and slit his throat. Guaranteed kill. I suggest you try it.
I usually kick em in the balls first! Makes it more challenging

a head shot of any kind on game is not a good shot. There is way to much room for error. The animal moves it head just when you release you either miss or hit it wrong. Same with a rifle. In my opinion head shots should be avoided.
