Property is very heavily wooded. It is located in east Texas. Any advice on using a tree climber would be appreciated. Thanks for your help!

Where in east Texas? If you are close you can borrow one of my climbers. I'll set you up with it and a harness. You can practice using it in my yard.

Wow. 2000 heavily wooded acres in East Texas. Not exactly an afternoon scouting trip.

I'm by no means an expert on texas wildlife, but my first thought would be to find a good aerial/topo and tryto locate some good water on the interior of the property. If they are using it, try and backtrack to a good food source.

Maybe also try and walk the edge if the river, looking for pools/slews; some type of cover, and again try and find the nearby food.

Surely somewhere there has to be access roads, clearings, something to break the terrian?

With your limited timeframe, you will possibly disturb deer in some way, but it beats not doing any scouting at all.

Flashearth.com is another great topo site or I also use my property valuation people at my counties court house. However, topo maps only show so much. Need to dig in a little to find the sign and good trees for climbers. Suggest starting like the others said, using natural travel corridores like ditches and draws, then place your climber the best you can for your primary wind. Good luck!
