What Paul said, most modern rests are more or less the overdraw of yesterday.

I had a buddy rip his forearm up pretty good on an overdraw in 1991ish. The arrow, probably about 25 inches with the boradhead, he is about a 29.5 inch draw, came off a prong rest a second before he released. It was ugly, thank god though, no major damage. Nasty scare and scar.

I had a Indian stalker wheel bow and 6 in overdraw for my first deer! Whoo Hoo anit tech great these days!

Sure you had to change arrows and any torque was critical, but they weren't that bad I have one put away for a Jennings like new, if anyone is interested .
