It' s illegal in Tennessee during bow and muzzleloader but I take one anyway. I was attacked by 3 wild dogs a few years ago that I stumbled upon while they were munching on a dead deer. Fortunately, it was rifle season and I got the first dog as he attacked, about 10 yards away. The other two took off. Anyway, ever since, I' ve taken a concealed sidearm of some kind while bowhunting.

Handguns are illegal to hunt with or carry in sask, canada. If bear hunting you can have any weapon as back up, but you must adhere to that weapons dress code. Meaning even if bowhunting as primary & you pack or have a 3030 with you need to wear colours when toting that weapon, otherwise you can wear camo. All other game you must adhere to the class (bow, ml or rifle) for which season you are hunting and the proper dress code that is specified for that season/class.
