how much would it take for you to stop hunting for five years.

Honestly, I'd be good with 50k. Id go buy 15 acres in Al.. for 40k and use 10 k to put a hunting trailer on it... then just spend my own cash fixin up my free land for 5 yrs.. then back to hunting. Hell, I could always just fish.

You couldn't pay me to stop hunting. Even if I made a crap load I'd find vacation time to take off and hunt if not they'd be withot me. Hunting is my life right now everything else comes second.

Ill take a 2009 Mustang GT and all free gas. And then like 10k a year.

When I was stationed in Puerto Rico (3 years), my hunting was severely limited. Furthermore, the USCG and PR gun laws forced me to leave all of my gear with a buddy. Although it sucked, it didn't seem too bad because there were no reminders of hunting like cool weather, changing leaves or other hunters. The sadness was also lessened by an addiction to spear fishing, wreck divingand copious amounts of Corona and Medalla Cerveca. Time slips away quickly in the Caribbean.
If I had to live in the states and give it up, the amount would go way. 100K tax free minimum.

OK I'll answer it sans the "PC" spewage......lol.
You're gonna write me a check......tax free......and all I have to do is forego hunting (including not touching my hunting weapons)?
I'm guessingthe number would be pretty low, comparatively (being as how "I'd as soon die" is the standard to some....lol). I could buy a nice spread......work the land....buy a nice tractor.....and have a NICE place to hunt in 5 years. I could also film for my friends......and get back into some flyfishing.
I'm guessing a check for $25K (tax free) would get my attention. It would for one year.....I can tell you that. It would mean less (that amount) as time went on, though. So.....let's say it had to go up $5K/yr.
That's being honest.

I gave up hunting for 2 years while I moved away and finished college at the age of 23. School and work, that was my life. The day I graduated at age 25 I had less than $100 in my checking account, and achunk of loans. But that's how it had to be for me to get the education.
Best decision I ever made. I really shouldn't be all that hard to step away for a few years in order to better your quality of life, care for your family(if need be), or take care of any other hurdles in life.
It's really, reallyawesome to talk big about being a 'true, dedicated hunter', but cars and millions of dollars as the only possible buyout?

to me 25 or even 100 is not enough. 25k would not do much at all. maybe a new car
100k would get you a car small piece of land and hunting gear
It would take 500k plus 50k a year. so i could get some land and work it for the 5 years. takes that long to get it good for hunting anyway
