I have it set a 62, and it is plenty of power to kill a deer. I've killed lots of deer with 45 pound bows.

Mines set at 62-63ish. Works good.
Good luck with your decision.

I'll let you know about hunting.....but I shot 3D at 60lbs and loved it. I can tell you practicing is more fun at 60lbs.

We'll see in 25 days.

I have backed down from peaked out 70# (actual 73#) to 64# and have done nothing but enjoyed shooting that much more. I went to a lighter arrow and lost very little speed. I also had some shoulder issues from pulling the higher weight to soon last season. I decided I would rather bow hunt the rest of my life than risk any shoulder injury in the next couple of years.

I hunted with 52lbs for yrs........ It did the job and I got passthru's on all but one of 4 deer. The one was a bad shot angle and hit BIG bone. I'm now shooting 62lbs and I don't have a problem either.
