I am at the other "end" of killing big bucks. I used to gun hunt and it got boring. You could shoot a deer about as for as you could see it. It was not an accomplishment to me anymore. I got in to bow hunting in 1990 and starting shooting anything to gain confidence.5 years agoI bought 135 acres and began QDM.Big bucks are usually much harder to kill with a bow. I want big bucks on my property to hunt so "I have to let them go so they will grow." I could kill a deer everytime I hunton my farm. Ilet a 140"+ go last year at 27 yards. I drew on him and held for about a minute and decided to let him go so maybe this year, he will be bigger. It is my standard of accomplishment to kill a big buck with my bow that drives me to hunt. Big bucks are what gets my heart pumping!

Gary I'm not arguing with you at all. The man's got a pretty good resume', though. That's all I was saying.

Now if "I" said "I'd" shoot the doe......

Call BULL ****, quick!

I am a trophy hunter, then meat hunter..I will go All season without killin' a single deer until it's down to the wire on fillin' the freezer. If I get a good buck, Then I go for the meat deer............ I let the spotted ones walk though.....

In his younger days the buck

In his older years the doe, but I have actually seen him take a fawn/doe over a nice buck[8D][&:]

I think the bottom line is, for the most part, bigger is better. It's human nature.Who goes fishing to see if they can catch"the small one"? What women is hoping she gets a small engangement ring? We all want the big buck, some just won't admit it.
