I was thinking about how you could test them out on a doe down here........but I remembered.....this IS North Carolina/Rob.......andyou have to actually HIT the deer to get a good read on how they're working.

We could test Jim's theory on how far into the ground they go, though.

Your all just sob's. I was just out tweaking and playing with my Tracer Nock. Neat friggin little nock that is but it was aweful bright out to really appreciate it. I'll shoot it again when it gets darker this evening.

I did do a little video tutorial on it but I don't have time to edit and make it a movie right now. My wife is having a family reunion here at the house all day and I'll be busy...yeah! [&:]

Can't wait to see the video on the Tracers, Rob... I need to get something ordered in the way of lighted nocks pretty soon.

Kinda funny how we seem to go in a full circle. Now put a 125 gr thunderhead on the end of it and you'll be pulling them out of six inches of earth on the other side of your buck.
Why stop at 125 gr? I've got some old Razorbak 5's he can try that if I remember are 142 gr. How much would that up the KE?

Rob... what is your draw length? You must be a long armed rascal. Well long compared to my 27 1/2. LOL I'm shooting a 473 grain arrow out of my Guardian at 70 pounds and only getting 256 or 255I forget which it was.

I'd say 62# @ 460 is a tad heavy, but the 280 makes up for it. I'm typically around 440@ 68# and 285. Seems to have the right mix of speed/flight/hit. Most guys unawae of the third factor will sacrifice it not knowing that the ability to hit the thing square is far more important than punch. The drop of a heavy arrow for most of us distance challenged hunters isn't good.

With all this talk of punch going on you'd think the deer which require far less punch have been geneticlly altered to be some kind of super beast.

Ay any rate it should be some fun slinging one of those at a deer. I still have some 2216's. Shot at stuff with them last year, it was fun. They did not penetrate as well as the lighter smaller diameter carbons. ( by lighter I mean around 440, the 16's were over 560)

Jeff's right David. It's the difference in the 82nd compared to the Guardian. I'm pulling 28.5" of draw so an inch longer than yourself. It's just the 82nd can really spit arrows. Honestly, I expected more than the 280 fps but with that load, but at 62lbs, I'll take it and smile.

That's amazing. I haven't gotten to play with the new ones. Dang, if it's zinging arrows like that you might as well go light poundage and heavy arrows. Less noise, easier on the equipment and a true killing machine. Oh damn, now when I go to Len's I suppose I'll have to look at new bows.[&:][&:] I need to pave my driveway... I'm not looking at bows. I will not look at bows. I will NOT look at bows.[&:][&:][:@][:@]
