Default deer attractant tread...got me thinking

I have hunted many different locations all over southern Wv...In my experience deer react to different attractants depending on location...For example I hunt a farm in Monroe County WV, deer avoid DC black magic, but in Nicolas they run to it, But it mason wv they avoid it or ignore would be a better term. So my Question is, do you think it could have something to do with different soils and ph levels...Or are some deer just different...corn seems to work everywhere, but in the limited experience in Mcdowell Wv, the deer use it as a last resort....anyone else seeingthe same type of patterns when it comes to all these products? The only product that I have luck with in each location is C'more bucks by EH...but I'm willing to bet that some guys hate the stuff and feels it doesn't work..Anyone know of any good research on the topic?
