It has not affected my hunting or fishing yet, it just changed the vehicle I am using to do it all, from a V10 Excursion to a CJ7 Jeep.

I will be hunting before work and on the way home from work, mainly because the land I hunt in on the way to and from work. I will have to leave my bow out on the land I hunt on because the SPs won't let me bring my bow on base unless I leave it with them, I wouldn't leave any thing I own with them. Glad I hunt on private land and the landowner lives there.

NO.
Except that most hunts I will be driving my car instead of my truck. Its small, but I can jam a deer in it.

well last year it did cost me a few hunts.

Even though i was only driving 8 miles each way, but my truck drinks gas cost about 10 to 12 bucks a trip and it all adds up.

this year my hunting is 1 to 21/2 max miles from my house.
heck if i could throw a Deer on my scouter i would drive it.

So this year i will care very little of the gas price.

The private land that I hunt is 30-50 miles away so I may not get to them as often as I would like but I have a lot of public land within 10 miles that I will utilize more than normal this year.

Not really, I have a spot that is 5 miles away which is what i hunt most frequently. I also have some public land thats only 8-10 miles away..

I've got a family farm that is 20 miles away, and a bunch of land that is 250 miles away... that one will hurt!

BUT I think gas prices will be down significantly by mid october...

The gas prices will not affect my time in the field at all.........but my job will!

I am scheduled for back surgery again on August 21 and when I do finally get to return to work, I will be on light duty for quite some time which means I will be working 8-5 Monday through Friday. Not a big deal to most of you, but as a fireman, I am used to only working 10 shifts a month and having the other 20 days to pursue the whitetail! Kind of spoiled I guess...but that's really the only schedule that I've known for the last 8 years or more. So there will be an adjustment for me this year....but it's not going to be due to the rising gas prices.

Good luck!!
