i would explain to them that you hunt to feed your family a better food source and would like to walk in
if not walk 200 yardsoffer them some meat or something most people what paid off i find
not to say i would not be think about making the walk acrossi would more then likely not
but it could get you in trouble

If permission isn't in writing... then it doesn't exist in VA when it comes to land access. You are taking a chance when you get "verbal" permission.
Jeff did you indicate at all that you were "BOW" hunting? No shots.... no stray bullets... no showers of blood or alpaca sacrifices?
