Hunting in the rain.

I will hunt in a light rain, but only if it will break. I am not one who will go out if the rain is going to last all day with no let up.
For those storms that will break during daylight hours, I tend to get to the stand before that happens. I have noticed alot of deer movement after the storm breaks. When scrapes on out, I will hunt over a good active scrape as I have had bucks come in to "freshin" 'em up after a good rain.

I love hunting in the rain. Texas doesn't get very cold early bow season, and seems the deer enjoy cooling off as much as we do. I also like to spot and stalk, after a good rain, it's easier to see tracks, and the leaves are soft and quiet your steps.

A little drizzle is fine for me, wont go out if it is a down poor. I like having accuweather on my phone to get an accurate look at the radar. obviously, it is alot less noisy getting in or out in the rain. And the deer will move right after the rain stops.

Thanks John, you saved me a lot of typing. My thoughts exactly.

I love hunting in a light drizzle. It seems I see a lot of deer movement on those days. I will wax my string right before I go out. I have found that if you let water soak your string it gets heavier and my bow shoots lower. I try to keep the water off my string.
I don't hunt in a hard rain. One reason being above. Too hard to keep things dry. Another is no blood trail. And I have enough other days that I can hunt to sit out there in a downpour.
Now I do like to hit the woods as soon as a good hard rain has stopped. The deer seem to move a lot then too. And you can sneak around the woods real quiet too.
