Here is a poll on limb issues
http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=675042&highlight=bowtech

I don't really have time... search Bowtech in the forums...
Count the number of threads started about bow tech problems...
then search for any other make of bow...

Answer this one question and ask some friends, who has more reported issues.....? Hoyt, PSE, Bowtech, Mathews or Bear.....
Bowtech is about the number one answer.

Bowtech is about the number one answer.

And you KNOW this because you read it on the internet right?

There are far better ways to research products than oninternet forums. Time and time again there have been people report or vote on a poll that they have had a problem with said product when in fact they've never even owned one. Of course when they're caught in their lies they try to back pedal and make excuses but it's too late to regain any lostcredibility.

The best way to research any product is to start with your local dealers that DO sell such products, not the ones that don't.

A dealer that sells the products you're interested in will generally tell you upfront whetheror not they've had any inherant problems.

Right, I should trust the Salesguy more than anyone else....
So, if I'm researching a bow manufacturer to buy a new bow, I should desiregard what I see on the internet and go to the dealers, cause they are not biased at all.
Why come on these forums at all if everyone is lying to you?
I really was not bashing Bowtech, I have often times said that the destruction of the limbs was more than likely the result of poor usage by the owner.
Unfortunately, I'll never own one, and its because of the fact that, to me, they have inherent problems.

Yeah, Pat. I agree. There are people who constantly degrade products that they've never used....and it does reveal their lack of credibility. Sad, huh (and sometimes, unprofessional)?

Imagine if a guy has a problem with a cam on a first generation Bowtech bow.....and then somehow tried to compare that to the models of today???? In the eloquent words of Bugs Bunny....."What a maroon". Matt and I were talking about this a while back....when there was a Bowtech limb poll going on over on AT. Matt had an issue with someone representing another bow company making disparaging remarks about Bowtech. I agreed with him. It's EXTREMELY unprofessional when people representing one company write negative comments/reviews when speaking about products within the industry.

Good call.

As far as the OP's question.....

I've shot the Diamond line.....and I own a Guardian. I wouldn't hesitate to take either to the woods, this fall.

in most instances, the dealer (who will ultimately have to deal with the manufacturer and the end user) will/should give you the straight answer on the bow/manufacturer. If there are are inherent problems, the dealer will get involved at some point fi there is an issue. I don't sell/recomend items that i have had multiple problems with, just not a profitable way to run a business, seems to me that the dealer/manufacturer would also like to be profitable.

I own boththe Guardian and the BlackIce. The Guardian is the bow I will be usingthis year.I personally like it better. I used the BI last deer season and it performed perfect for me. You can't go wrong with either bow. Good Luck!

It is no secret that a lot of the regulars over on ArcheryTalk try their best to bash BowTech. Its been going on ever since BowTech started becoming a competator with the "big two", Hoyt and Mathews.

It is also no secret that a few years ago BowTech had some issues with some of their limbs. Its not a secret that Mathews and even Hoyt has also had issues of some sort.

However, If you take in account of "today's" BowTech's I think that you will see that they don't have any more problems than Hoyt or Mathews. In my opinion BowTech has the best line up of bows on the market. A lot of the Mathews shooters use the defense " if you make a quality bow then you won't have to keep changing it". BowTech doesn't "change" their bows. They make new bows. They have a bow for just about every application that you can think of. Short ATA. Long ATA. Smooth. Quite. Speed. Even have one for short DL shooters.

I had not taken this perspective before, and its quite agreeable....
Though, I will say, that the negative publicity that line of bows recieves did alter my choice from the Allegiance to the Trykon.

I did look and came to the conclusion you don't like Bowtech. That's your opinion and that's ok everyone has one.

And your poll shows that 72% of Bowtech owners never had an issue. So even though anyone could vote in the poll, your point still isn't validated.
