Pears...do they eat em?
#1

One of the first places I plan on bowhunting this year is along an orchard. I know there are pear trees by the dozens in this field...is a pear on the list of favorites?

Deer cant get enough of them. my brother inlaw had a pear tree at his last house. right before dark deer would come out of the woodwork and huddle around that tree. the ground was kept clean

My wife and I got married in November 05 and bought a log home out in the country. Its only 5 acres but has a pond (3/4 acre) and 2 pear trees, two apple trees, and two persimmon trees. I have seen does in my yard standing on their hind legs getting to the persimmon and apples, but never seen them hit the pears.
I see tracks around my pond leading to the fruit trees and notice that there are never any fruit on the ground. I guess since there are dogs and stuff around they only come to eat in the middle of the night.
Maybe this year I will put a tree stand in the fruit trees and see what happens. All my cameras are being used on my hunting property. I guess I will spare one and set up by my trees!
