In Manitoba a Fire Arm must be unloaded while transport, you can't even lean the gun against the car while loaded, it doesn't need to be cased or have a trigger lock and can be visible to anyone but if you leave the vehicle and the gun is still inside it must be out of sight. A bow or anything shooting under 500 FPS is not considered a fire arm so those rules don't apply to bows. Do what ever you want with your bow here as far as I know..

Here in Missouri you can transport your Bow in your vehicle without a case, some of us don't have cases for our Bows but I guess it would be a good idea to get one because Illinois is only about 13 miles away from where I live and I have made several trips over there not realizing you have to have a Bow in a case or disabled? I think the deputy that harrassed me was, in a way, right to bust my chops with the kind of things that are going on around here. I think we should all have our common sense checked twice a month and have our score hanging from the tailgate. Where are you in Goochland?
I was just off the 64 Hadensville exit. I'm down in Mecklenburg County now. Nice and rural. Don't know if you've heard of Southern Bow and Gun. They took over our old hunt club last year. Seem like good fellas. They've got a lot of land in Goochland and Louisa. Before they came in last year, there were only about six of us that bow huntedsome 800 acres of mature hardwoods within a 1800 acre parcel. I'm going to miss that Whiteoak grove.
