Somany people are more than eager to bash a snake and think nothing of it. There was maybe a handful of guys against that premise. But because we are talking about a cute cuddly squirrel here, EVERYONE jumps on the bandwagon to oppose it.

I think those people give us hunters a bad name. Them and us are 2 different types of people. I really don't think hunters enjoy the killing aspect of hunting....the kill part I'm referring to, ie killing to kill, hunting just to kill.
Carefull... a lot of hunters - on here too - hunt just to kill something.

Funny how that works....what about a cute cuddly deer getting chased through the woods by those horrible hunters.[8D]

Dangerous to do it, yep (swerving to hit anything). That makes it stupid, not other things.

True. Shave the fluffy tail and how many would try to hit a rat?

I wouldn't try to hit a rat....I don't try to kill anything unless it endangers my family and there is no other option. Killing an animal just to kill is just plain stupid, unless that animal poses a great danger to your body or well-being.

My whole point of this is really, Why risk an injury to yourself or others just to hit an animal? You know that if traffic was flowing at 45-55 and the same situation occurred, they would have tried the same thing. Rat, squrriel, groundhog or cat, it just doesn't make since to try it. Its to simple to lose control of your car and cause an accident.

I'll tell you like this I won't wreck my vehicle to kill something that's on the road but if a squirrel or possum or raccoon cross the road in front of me I don't hit my brakes.

Ditto - Swerving to avoid an animal is just as dangerous as swerving to hit it.

Just maybe there was a history between that critter and the driver and the critter wouldn't take warning and got it's comeuppance.JK

Who knows. Saw a family of ducks do somethig similar at a very busy intersection. Some idiot woman in a distant lane stopped her car and attempted to stand there and direct the ducks. I kept waiting for a big crash (stupidly but unable to move, could of got us all killed). The ducks made it. It was unbelievable.
