Sounds like you had a great time.
As far as birdsbeing decoy shy, I'm not sure. Turkeys aren't like deer, but their sense of sight and hearing are so good it's scary. It could be they picked something out on the decoy that didn't look right tothem or perhaps you found some birds that busted other hunters over decoys (I don't know if a turkey has the capacity to "learn" this.) Maybe they didn't like the blind. You can drive yourself crazy trying to figure out what a turkey is thinking, which usually isn't a lot.
