This spring I saw an amish buggy going down the highway with a load of vinyl siding hanging out of it. I wish I would have had my camera!

No idea about the amish, but the Menenites love me killing the waterfowl in their fields.

I'd start growing your beard now, should be in place by hunting season. No mustache.

We had Amish people around us where I grew up in Ohio, great people in my opinion. Just ask them politely, the worst that will happen is they will politely tell you no and that will be the end of it. They won't hold a grudge or anything. I don't know that they would want money, but you could offer to help them out in other ways like help them with a project or something. You could actually learn a lot from them, some of them are excellent craftsman. Just remember to mind your manners around them.

Get to know them (Amish or other of Mennonites, kinda like how the protestant faith is broken down), they are classy with a great sense of humor. Kinda like a lot of other american rural folk actually....Different than most of us in many ways, yes, but different does not equate to wrong or bad. As usual, ignorance breeds fear and suspicion. That is where the labling comes from.
