I have never found the need for one here in WV. Usually by early October it's cold enoughfor most of the bugs to be gone.

Down here in Lousisiana I have used mine in Dec.. We dont have you average mosquitoes. I dont even call them mosquitoes anymore, more like lil vampires... The will bite through gloves and face masks and if you dont have a heavy jacket on they will penetrate your clothes. The thermacell is a must here... Down here in LA there is always something trying to bite you are suck your blood, ie cotton mouths or mosquitoes....

I do not.. because I can smell it. And if I can.. I know they can. Granted many will likely not flee from the scent it gives.. but I'm looking for just 1 animal.. and I choose not to give him any reason to spook.

I just deal with the mosquitos. I'm fully covered from head to toe so it's unlikely they'll get more than a bite or two on me.. but yes.. they certainly bother me too. I just deal with it.

Nope! I don't spend much on the clothing part of hunting. Nothing fancy with me.

I'll probably try mine this fall. Iused it so far in turkey season and it really didn't work at all for the black flies. Skeeters usually don't bother me, they don't affect me when they bite, I hate them buzzing in my ears though.

During gun season last year I was right on top a mosquito pit it seemed but I had all kinds of signs in that area so I set up a gravity feeder right there. I Was about 100 yards away from the feeder and the skitters were still nailing me bad. Next week when I hunted the spot I made sure to get some Repel with Deet in it and sprayed the inside of my clothing. Worked like a charm came home with a nice size doe that very day.
