I've seen a lot of these types of threads on here over the past few months...It seems to me a lot of guys are pretty quick to shoot every deer with a gimp in it's step...obviously not the case with this fawn and I feel you did the right thing. Sad though. Just remember how very very tough these animals are before you go "putting them out of their misery" guys.

And before you ease your conscience understand who it is that will be the law when you plug a deer out of season. I could go on and on with examples but for starters look at what's going on with the autorney gerneral of the state of Ohio. I'm telling you to not give these people a reason to talk to you. Your life means less to them than the lunch their going to have later on. (I actually had an issue with a government agency and when there wasting my time/money the receptionist told me, all excited, that it was soup day.[:@])
You did the wrong thing kid (I've read some of your post) and for your own good don't do it again and never talk about this.
A young man called the warden about poachers. As he was leaving his hunting area the same warden arrested him. It was a hassel and thrown out at trial, yes it went that far. The family had just lost a son in a terrible accident and many people (most likely the warden also) knew about it.
The kid took a powerful deer this year.
Couldn't be happier for him.

I hate to see any animal suffer but I personally don't like to mess with Mother Nature! A GW might not see it the same way you do and you get busted for killing a deer out of season and loose your privilege to hunt for a few years and a hefty fine to boot. Its nature and happens on a daily basis, get over it!

Give me a break....you are wrong. Many people on here have a heart in more ways than one..first, we care about the suffering of animals and two...we have a heart in terms of not backing down from what is "right".... what the law says is not always the right and ethical thing to do.
nodog..." You did the wrong thing kid (I've read some of your post) and for your own good don't do it again and never talk about this."
Nodog, alot of us on here don't give a damn about what the DNR says about things like this, because we have a soul that transcends the law...there is natural law.

where I'm from, a guy can loose his right to hunt for 3 years. So I'm not scared of a warden but I am scared of loosing my license for 3 years. And it happens. And I havent met many wardens with a sense of humor.
