Choice number four fits me perfectly. I don't think of the kill as a bonus. If I had to break the hunt down in to separate parts, which is difficult to do, the "kill" would rankjust as high, in my book as the anticipation, the camaraderie, spending time surrounded by nature and catching that first glimpse of movement. I can't, however, slice a hunt up that way in my mind. I love the hunt, and I love the kill. It's programmed into me and I choose to embrace it. I love it![8D]

I practice and scout, so as to make the best kill shot I can. When I drill one, there's no better feeling. It's a rush unmatched by anything else I do. Yes, I enjoy the kill. If it was just about "being in the woods", I'd carry a camera, or sit on my poarch as the previous poster stated. I have the ultimate respect for these critters. That's why I take nothing but what I consider to be kill shots, for me. Worst feeling I've ever had was watching a deer run away with my arrow in it. It's never happened again.

I personally like the kill, but dont love it. I love the fact that I can go in and set myself up in a position to see the animal I want, get them within range, and make a sucessful shot. I dont like to watch em die if they are deer, unless they drop on the spot. The birds dont get to me at all and I love the kill on birds because that is everything, but on deer it is a different scenario to me. Take it or leave it if I didnt like the kill I wouldnt do it.

First of all I wouldn't hunt if it did bother me alot. I like to know I made a good shot and the animal did not suffer. I don't like that at all. I believe God gave us dominion over the animals so I believe it is ok to kill them to use them for food etc. I do not like to kill just to kill. I would never release an arrow just so an animal will die.

So Jason, is it fair to say that you eat everything you kill?

I'm a little bit of a thrill seeker. I sure don't mind "the kill" itself , but I hunt for the venison AND the the rush I get when I seemy arrow hitthe target.
I would never kill an animal just to kill. God put animals on the earth to sustain us. If feel very fortunate when a hunt ends with a quick , successful harvest. If I lost the rush, I'd probably quit.

I do like th "Kill" part of the hunt not because I love killing animals but because I know that I have been successful at tricking the deers senses and get close enough to get a shot. Even when I get a shot that I am not sure if I missed or not I feel good and start shaking. I've always told myself this: If ever I stop shaking after a kill I will quit hunting because then I'm not hunting, I'm killing.
