Big---you don't have to expalin your love for bowhunting to me.......if it is legal in their country to hunt giraffe, then go for it! Just because it is not something I want to do, doesn't mean someone else can't do it if it is legal. Hell, we slaughter cows by the millions each year in our country, and everyone just keeps on ticking like its nothing. What is the difference between a giraffe and a cow? Nothing.

I eat them and I enjoy looking at them on my wall. It's that simple. Again, I said tell me what about giraffe that makes someone want to shoot it?? why is this so hard for people to answer... ???I didn't say they shouldn't, I said it was silly, but to have at it!!

BTW, I did ask my little 13 year old buddy why he wanted to shoot a giraffe? He said because he has already killed about everything you can kill in SA with his bow......EXCEPT for the dangerous game. So, he is going to hunt a giraffe this time around. He is going to hunt something else on this trip that will be made illegal to hunt in SA after october of this year. My little buddy is going to tackle a lion with his bow!!! He shoots 58lbs. already, and better than most adults I know! With his Crimson Croc cut on contact 2-blade, he will pass right through an adult lion if he gets the shot.

Vanbowmen sorry I really didnt mean to insult I think your a good guy and respect the fact your a teacher.Do I think it is silly yes I think traveling that far to hunt is crazy but the rich get bored.But sounds like there is a need to shoot the stupid things so you walk up and put an arrow in one big deal and the rich man gives the poor man his money good trade.

blackfish, this whole thread got a lil crazy, no offense taken man. I just don't know why it caused such a hoot.. all i was trying to do was get answers as to why some people feel compelled to shoot a giraffe, right, wrong, indifferent....I said why I shoot deer and turkey, and it seems for the same reason people shoot a giraffe. I just was not aware of trophy giraffes, in fact I honestly didn't know they were game animals. If it's legal shoot away!!! I still think it's silly. It's not like people don't feel that way about whitetails. Guy that owns the bow shop up the road wouldn't give 2 cents for deer, but he pays big bucks to go to Alaska and bear hunt. He thinks we are crazy and stupid for chasing an animal like a deer..... geez, forgive me forum for asking for the truth about giraffes.......!!!!!
