How many male turkeys? How many antlered deer?

I honestly can't believe you're arguing this, Gus.....lol.
What's the average person's range with a shotgun? Bow? How many times have I seen a guy pull the trigger on a shotgun illed bird from 50yds?

Let me put it this way......
If Rob and I had had shotguns this past weekend.....we'd BOTH have a bird....and Rob would most likely have TWO. We were hunting from a blind.

You say you could not get in position b/c of the side of the blind the turkeys came from. How would that have worked of you were leaning against a tree?

I could never do the math, but I would say a lot of years hunting deer and only about six or so hunting turkeys. I never kept track of the number of deer. As long as there is meat in the freezer, I am happy. With all of my time at sea and several seasons working 12+ hour shifts in the shipyard, I would say my hunting seasons have been greatly reduced despite hunting since I was 12 (31 years).

So now you can tell the future LOL. What if you and Rob would have taken the blind away and had the shotgun?

We didn't take the blind away.
I never said we couldn't get in position b/c of the side of the blind. Conjecture.
We weren't leaning against a tree.....because we were in a blind.

20-21 years bowhunting I’ve killed 14 bucks at a 1 buck per season limit.
In 4-5 hunts with a bow, I’ve killed 0 turkeys. But I called in a gobbler during 2 of those hunts that I may or may not have been able to kill with a shotgun.
I’ve also missed a gobbler at 7 steps with a shotgun. Nothing is ever a given.

I know it happens, Rybo (misses). I'm just going on my own personal experiences (to form MY "opinion").
Never a slam-dunk.....but I've never missed a turkey with a shotgun. I can'tmake that claimwiththe bow.
Off-topic, though....I'm sorry. We're talking bowhunting.

i swear i didnt see ARCHERY ONLY the first time i read it! oh well!! i hope you still love me Jeff
but, i see your argument....BUT...think about this....humans have been bowhunting since...hell..the Native Americans had bows and killed bucks with them!!! bowhunting for turkeys is practically brand new. you guys are doing stuff that really didnt cross hardly anyones minds...hell, turkey hunting PERIOD is relatively new for numerous states...and in the last 10 years or so the number of turkey hunters period sky rocketed compared to what it was.....while all this was going on, there was always bowhunters shooting bucks...
just cant get an accurate reading of what your trying to judge....

I don't know what the big deal is, Mauser. I'm ONLY asking how many years people (individuals) have been going after each (deer/turkeys)....and what their success rate with each is.......and I've limited it to bowhunting, only.
That's really all I want to know.
I have an "opinion"....and I'm trying to see if it's correct or not. I don't know the answer for anyone other than me.

Wow a lot of twists in the quetion.. Turkey harder that bucks I would have to say I don't think so. But I have seen both that will kick anybodys butts 9 out of 10 days, But I have seen turkeys close to homes I can cluck with my mouth and feed out of my hand and they are wild and not fed!! But then I have seen my share of bucks dumber than rocks and I truley believe the dumbest of all is the 1 1/2 year old buck..
Turkey=0 with bow three years of trying with a bow but passed on two that I had shots at because cameraman couldn't get it on film..
Bucks=62 with only 7 being mature
33 years of bowhunting!!Walt
