Hey all;
I am looking to book a hunt for either this fall or next to hunt whitetail in Montana. I've been looking around the internet for guides in the NW part of Montana and haven't come up with too many. I found one at http://www.bigforkoutdoors.com . Does anyone have any info on him or has anyone hunted with him? He sounds like a serious hunter, not a party thrower. That's what I'm looking for.

carl from colorado.......why NW montana for whitetail? I think Kansas for whitetail would be a much better option......maybe I'm misinformend, I know some nice whitetails come out of montana, but for the most part I dont see the sheer numbers of quality bucks there, nor the monsters......however kansas seems like everyone shoots a monster.....and if I pay to whitetail hunt anywhere, a 140" isn't going to cut it. Less youre looking for a deal, maybe NW Montana is cheaper?

warning, have never used any of these outfitters, as we have our own places to hunt etc.
but dont bother looking nothing big, only 120 class deer in Montana....

Here is the Montana outfitters site...you can select regions, units, types of critters etc. to hunt...
http://www.montanaoutfitters.org/index.php?page=search
but in all seriousness, to the IL monster whitey post...in Montana, we rarely spend time chasing whitetails, as they are not worth the time when you can spend just as much time/energy/effort and get a Bull Elk....or a Monster Muley...
So, whiteys are really under hunted in most areas in Montana, which indeed makes it a great place to hunt them...Our family place, we have atelast 3 bucks over 160 one approaching 180 on the property...so the big dogs are definitely here...but we dont hunt them much...
