Parting with the Whisker biscuit
#1
Not this season but next year I might look at other rest options, just to get a little more speed. There are some nice drop aways out there now and I'm almost ready to be a big boy.I do love my little biscuit. Some of you that changed have you ever looked back?

Im with you, I just bought a new bow this week, and I am going to install a QAD drop away rest on it. I have used the biscuit for years now, but I think it is time for a change.

I have used the Biscuit for years and loved it.
I too, also felt this year it was time to try a
drop-away. Went with the QAD PRO LD. Had trouble with
it after a short period of time. Didn"t seem like the launcher arm
dropped out of the way all the time. Long story made short; QAD sent me a new rest same thing happened with second one. Rest was set-up
exactly per instructions. Whisker Biscuit went back on last night;
I refuse to use a rest I can"t trust.

I used one for years and loved it. Switched and never looked back, but had nothing to do with speed. I did some extensive testing of the WB with many different arrow/fletch combo's and the biggest speed loss I came up with was 1.5 ft/s.
I just felt like I shot better at longer ranges with a drop away.

Same here. I got rid of my Whisker Biscuits over the winter and went over to the QAD Ultra rests. I'm shooting a little better. I also had an issue with the WB that involved small diameter arrows (Axis) occasionally working their way into the bristes and causing a big flyer. Didn't seem to happen with standard diameter shafts. Now I can shoot varying diameter shafts without changing out the "biscuit".

I departed with my WB this year, in favor of the LimbDriver by VaporTrail. It is most likely the best upgrade I've made in hunting equipment (well maybe after the upgrade from a PSE Nova to a Hoyt Trykon
). At longer distances, my accuracy was night and day. The best thing, I have far more confidence with the LimbDriver, then I did with a WB.

As soon as they came out with the full containment drop away it made the whisker buscuit obsolete. I couldn't believe how many folks were bustin on drop aways last year and claiming that the buscuit was the best.

I tend to agree that a drop away rest is probably a more accurate platform than the biscuit but I also think both styles of rests are more accurate than 99% of the archers out there. We as archers (humans) tend to blame the equipment for our failures instead of the true reason.
Above all that I think the Biscuit's design is what I like most about it. It's simple, sturdy and basic. It requires no maintenance or additional materials (mole skin etc...) it's pretty much a "put on and forget" component.
I might even give a drop away rest another try, it's been about 3 years since I last put one on one of my bows, maybe new technology has improved them over the last fewyears.......my hunting bow?......Not a chance! The biscuit stays on that till something better comes along.
