Although I havent shot the Bear, I have shot the 3000 quite a bit. One of my good friends has one. The only bow I did like better was my Alliegance. Shoot them both as much as you can and good luck.

Hey Oz, didn't you say in another forum you were coming to Florida sometime this year. Let me know when and if you haven't decided on a bow yet. My local bow shop stocks the Darton line. He will set one up for you to shoot.

Don't know much about the Darton, but the Truth 2 is AWESOME!! Paper tuned on the very 1st shot. Can't get any better than that. It is a solid bow.

What do you know about either? The "just by what feels best" doesn't fly with me. They all give basic info and that helps, but there's more to the construction than most even care about but should.

I didn't see in my short search what the limbs were made of or how. I don't know what strings are on them. I did see what the riser is made of. The list goes on. Do you like or dislike any of these facts?. How about the customer service, what are people saying? Do they answer your calls and emails? Are there reacurring problems that are taken care of only after a complaint is made? Do people get rid of them quickly after getting them?

I like what Darton has done to eliminate cam lean, not keen on the harsh draw cycle. The brace is short, but the ata is good for a stand hunter. Don't care for the rubber grip although I like it for consistant hand placement and it is warmer than my wood grips. Solid limbs? Ever read Merlins reasoning behind using them? Their web site has a good faq section.

Did you know the Darton cable rod isn't metal and it isn't the same diameter?

Me too. It is an old style, but I think it has to do with what they did to eliminate cam lean. It could be a wear problem over time. I don't know what it's made of or how weather reacts with it. I know I don't like the added weight. The bow is supposed to balance very well in the hand. Staying on target issaid to bevery easy.

There's a guy you may have seen in your search called whitetail99. I bought his old tempest extreme for my daughter. It's doesn't really know how to not send an arrow out straight. It's the bow not what he did to it because I've change everything he had on it and it doesn't have the new limb pockets.
