Because I catch hell for stating that I don't think this is that hard. I don't think it's rocket science. Saying that one is better than the other is like saying two deer got run over and because one is mangled and the other isn't.....it's "deader".
Put two competent guys (even assuming one is "better" than the other)....in the same woods...with the same learning curve....and they're going to put up similar results.
If one kills a P&Y thats 2" more bone.....is he "better"? I guess where we differ is in the mindset of what it takes to "get the job done". I think we have a TON of guys in this forum who can do that in anybody's woods.....given time to learn them (the same amount of time).
Twist this any way anyone likes....and that's ALL I was saying.

If someone kills a P&Y with 2 more inches of antler are they a better hunter? No of course not.
I don't think it's rocket science either, it can be challenging sure but it's no rocket science, I'm with you on that.
So at the end of the day will two similar hunters do the same given the same time and same learning curve? Most likely. Where we differ is I don't think all HNI'ers are the same caliber of hunter....sorry I just don't think so. Now I have never claimed to know everyone here and I never will. Even those who I do know (from posts and what not) I still can't assume to fully know their hunting abilities unless I hunted with them for some time.
I can only use my judgment based on what I read from other posters as to how good a hunter I think they are. Mind you nowhere did I write thatmy judgment was based on pictures of deer they killed or P&Y listings they have.
I'll use GregH as an example (sorry but you're the best fit for this example) over the years he has posted pictures of some truly fantastic bucks and it's well known that he has....let's just say "more than one" listing in the P&Y record book. My assessment of his hunting knowledge howeverwas gained more soby his posts over the years and what he has said rather than his pictures or P&Y listings.
So no, I don't think all HNI hunters are the same or even close for that matter and if you just picked out two random names from the member list and stuck them in the same woods with the same amount of time to learn the land you will most likely get two far different results.
Stick Rob and Buckeye, or GregH and Motown in the same woods you will get similar results but that's not the question was it? The question was:
Even if you were able to hunt someone else's (HNI'er) spot, could you really expect the same results? Why or why not!
Now I answered that question not from a personal view (I wouldn't be so arrogant as to even want to) but from a general perspective.
