I don't think so, the only thing around the bones is muscle. Arrows go right through that.

I just don't think I would shoot a deer, if it had green dots on it??????

Here's the circulatory ststem. You are better off aiming more forward of your hit so you will sever larger bloodvessels and arteries rather than risk getting a marginal shot.

Your hit appears to be almost at the back edge of the lungs.

The shot would be perfectly acceptable to me if that was where my arrow impacted the deer, however... That is not exactly where I would have aimed.[/align]

Seeing as how you want to argue over everyones criticism when you asked for it...like a 15 year old.

I'll answer this dead is dead, obviously you recovered the deer. You asked if it was optimal. In mine and a few others opinions it is not.

You probably double lunged that deer. But, it wasn't a center shot through the lungs.

Thanks for that reply, Scott. Now I'll come clean. I didn't aim there. I aimed about 3" HIGHER than that on the same plane.

Dang....more personal attacks.

I don't mind criticism. Just be prepared to back it up.

"It's not optimal" don't get it.

Why isn't it?

It will take you at least 5 more seasons like the one you just had to end up being close to how many autopsies I've done on deer. I only shoot 1-4 deer per year.
