Ever had anyone say they hit'em to far forward?[:o]
Yes. In fact, I've DONE it. ;)
And so have I! Too far forward can easily happen, especially on a quartered deer which is what we are talking about Jim, not broadside or the thread would be 100% different, Jim since Rob's post comes to mind. !

Again, Gee Jim, he took out the heart, yeah, he's too far back. Remember, the term here is QUARTERED! [&:]
How quarterig was he if the arrow exited behind both font legs??????

I just noticed something, why isnt it field dressed? Where is the tag?

Obviousy you don't know the game laws in NC. I don't have to tag it. I call mine in.

And.....he wasn't field dressed in this photo....because I like to take my harvest photos before I field dress them. See....

so alls you have to do is call it in? no tag needed? do you need to pay anything to hunt there then?
Some of you people need to not pretend to know NC game laws. You have "tags" but you call them and throw out the tag. There is not tag on the deer, no tag on the head, no tag on the carcus.

LMAO, how ridiculous some people are.
im not trying to pretend to know the nc game laws, that just surprises me that you dont need to tag the deer even after called in

Probably not a whole lot. But your question was, and I quote...."Have you ever head anyone say they were too far forward?" And I have. What's how much this deer was quartering have ANYTHING to do w/ your question???
From page 2

Nope. It was back of the off-side leg (slightly).

RE: Would you be proud of this shot?

Every state is different Rory, every state is different.

In WY I had 3 tags for my bull, one for the head, one for the meat and one stayed with the carcus. In PA we have an ear tag, some states have check stations, some do not, some call them in, we send in report cards. Every state is different.

Jim...

Here ya go.

Imagine you were in the center of the clock. Deer trots by from inside the 12 o'clock positionto the 1:30 position. He's slightly quartering away. Only way I know how to describe it.
