Every state is different Rory, every state is different.

In WY I had 3 tags for my bull, one for the head, one for the meat and one stayed with the carcus. In PA we have an ear tag, some states have check stations, some do not, some call them in, we send in report cards. Every state is different.
3 tags for one bull, thats crazy, it better have been a nice one for that kind of money;)

Jim...

Here ya go.

Imagine you were in the center of the clock. Deer trots by from inside the 12 o'clock positionto the 1:30 position. He's slightly quartering away. Only way I know how to describe it.
Jeff I shoot him six inches more forward than you did ,thats me,Ierror in the side of perfection...........;)

A shot six inches in front of mine does no damage, one six inches back achieves your success.
Now do that with your shot placement.;)

rory, if NC is the same as Va, we simply notch the tag and call in to the game commission and push the numbers for: game kiled, weapon used, public or private land, antlerless or antlered, number of points if buck, and county and you're done that's it.

In NC....I call in my kill.....telling them: Animal, Sex of animal,County, gamelands?, date.

I then get a confirmation number that I mark onto my NC Big Game Report Card.

That's it. I'm done. I have 24 hours from the time of the kill to do this.
