If it isn't broke why fix it? With four blades don't you have more actual cutting diameter then a 2 blade Rage?
ALLI HAVE SHOT ARE MUZZY 4 BLADES AND DONT GET ME WRONG THEY FLY GOOD AND HIT HARD NEVER HAD A DEER GO MORE THAN 60 YARDS AFTER I SHOT IT BUT FOR SOME STUPID REASON IM THINKING ABOUT TRYING THE RAGE 2 BLADES I KNOW IT IS STUPID BUT WHATS YOUR ALLS THOUGHTS
The cutting diameter of a Rage is 2"
The cutting diameter of Muzzy is 1 1/8"
The four blades give you 2 1/4" cutting surface within the 1 1/8" cutting diameter.
Cutting diameter gives you the size of hole which is important to the actual size of the damage that is inflicted along with better chance for easier blood trails.

I used Montecs for the past couple years with good results. I decided to try the Rage 2 blades this year and they performed flawless for me. Next season I'll be shooting them again. I still like the Montecs for their ability to be sharpened and I will still use them no doubt as they are a great broad headbut the Rage heads are fantastic.
Those of you who have a problem with mechanicals because of the moving parts....I sure hope you use a Whisker Biscuit rest and not a drop away, you know.......with those moving parts and all.

I mean come on.....in one breath a mechanical broad head has evil moving parts and that's "Bad", but it's ok to have a rest with far more moving parts?
I have to laugh sometimes........Rage heads are fine, they do the job they are supposed to and they do it very well. I used Spitfires for years along with thunderheads before switching to the Montec/Rage combo so I'm no stranger to mechanicals. I would go back to Spitfires in a New York second if needed, they served me well with no problems either. I did loose some blades over the years with the Thunderheads but they worked good too.
It just makes me laugh how some components can have evil moving parts and others....how dare you even speak of it!

No beef here guys, just curious what would happen if one of the Rage heads did not open on contact?

Like I said BigJ, no beef, just studying. I will probably never try the Rage due to price and not seeing the need, but everyone else can. (No problem) I guess anything could fail in the shot situation. I just don't feel the need to add another variable against myself.
