Default Allegiance Question for you Bowtech Guys?

I was at my local archery shop today and I shot one of their leftover Tribute bows. It felt very nice. They also had an '07 Allegiance there that felt very nice as well, but unfortunately it wasn't setup to shoot and I didn't have time to stick around. Anyways, I was wondering what the difference is in the different years of the Allegiance bows? I don't know what year they came out. Are there any changes between the years, and is one year better than another as far as advancements go? Thanks!!

I can tell you (as a former '07 Allegiance owner) that the grip difference between the '06 and '07 is the only difference I know of......with the '07 having the better of the two.

If I was in the market for a bow.....I'd jump all over a new or used '07 Ally. I may own one again in '09. So far.....it's the BEST all-around Bowtech I've shot.....and I've shot all of them.

Good luck.

As an owner of an 05, I can't imagine they got any better!

As an owner of an 06 Ally, I put the Tribute back on the shelf and bought the Ally. (It was better for me).

I'd jump on the Ally as well.

Well being the owner ofthe '07 Ally the above board member used to own...(GMMAT) i love it, the grip is probably my favorite part. like said before the '06 has a fat grip where the '07 is slimmer. and i think the '05 you couldnt change out modules.... you had to buy new cams to change the Draw length, i might be wrong on that.

Buckeye probably addressed it in his PM... but there was a MAJOR difference between the '06 and the '07 Ally. While it still remains one of the most popular bows for hard-core fans, the model was moved from what we call the "heavy" riser to the Equalizer platform...

Each model year has its fans, and I'm a fan of both. I roomed with our lead designer and head of R&D at the ATA show and spent a good portion of one night attempting to convince him to combine the great attributes of both models into one bow in the future... I'd love to have the "heavy" riser back with the new, thinner grip. Matt Bressler, who shoots Pro class for Bowtech and I were talking about it, and he adamantly concurs as he used the '06 to win Worlds with that year and it still remains one of his favorites.

I'llbe placing another order for an '08 Ally (the only difference from last year to this year is the move from silver cams to black cams) later this spring, as I'm afraid this might be the last year for my beloved Ally and I want to have one to keep just for myself. In its current state with the lighter riser, it's a great Western bow: light and flat-shooting and extremely "packable" as you hike up and down mountains.

Greg, Covered all the differences. I liked both the 06 and 07. I liked the 07 grip better, but I do prefer a little heavier bow. The 06 got the nod there. I weighted my 07 up with a little heavier stabilizer than normal, and it was a very sweet shooter. In the end I hunted most of last year with the Guardian. A little heavier, a little slower, but more stable to me. I've said it before and I'll say it again the Allegiance is one of the Best hunting Bows I ever packed in the woods. I shot the 05, 06, & 07 and I liked them all.

As an owner of a 2006 Ally I am still very impressed with mine. Not a bow out there that impresses me in more ways than it. I love the way she shoots and how it feels in my hand. Although the posts above say the 06 has a fat grip Iam not disagreeing but the one I have seems very very thin, I don't know if a different grip was added or what but the one on mine seems almost like a new alpine grip almost too thin. Anyway I think the 07 Ally would be an excellant choice. The greatest bow out there for all around performance in my opinion...

I keep praying for a 2009 Bowtech 350 fps center pivot bow

I'm an 2006 Ally owner. Despite the ever-present urge to upgrade, I just can't get rid of my 06. I would have bought GMMATT (Jeff's) used 07 Ally but my hesitation to part with my 06 and his philanthropy intervened.

Buy the 07.
