Just curious if anyone had any input on the Lone Wolf Hang On Stand. I hunt from several different fixed position stands but feel that sometimes I would be better served if I could reposition my stands location. I currently have a Gorilla stand that I pack in to different locations but hate the fact that I have to fight strapping on the stand everytime I move. These Lone Wolf stands just look to me like the might be the ticket? It looks like a great concept. Any opinions or experiences positive or negative would be appreciated.

Stretch,
Welcome to the board- nice to see another Iowan on here.
Not to change your subject, but I think I know what you
are looking for in a stand. A few years back I had about
a dz. API' s and every time I had to move/change a stand
it was a pain in the rear. I wanted a stand that was easy
to hang and solid once I got it up. I don' t like to hunt a
stand more than 2-3 times, so most of the time I' m
packing my stand in and out. I' m a firm believer
that the first time you hunt a stand is the best. I looked
at a lot of stands and climbing sticks that would do what
I wanted in a wide variety of trees. I came up with
Chippewa stands (Wedge-Loc & Chief models) and Lone
Wolf' s climbing sticks (I use four sticks). I purchased a
LW hang on stand but just didn' t think it was up to the
standard of the Chippewa' s. I sold it to my brother and
bought another Chippewa
. Hope this helps...at
least it' s another option for you.

Hey Stretch,
I like you hate moving my lock-ons cause of the fight with the straps and belts etc. I currently have an API Baby Grand and 10+ Gorillas (started buying them because of GREAT price/value).
However I have looked at the attachment process on the new Summit lock ons, yeah I said Summit LOCK ONS!!! They also have a GREAT loonking climbing stick coming out too.
Take a look when you can. They are not available yet, but as soon as they are I will get one and will do a full review

I hear good things about Lone Wolf, but can' t look at the price. I buy and hang way too many stands for that.

Hey Jim A.,
My lone wolf will be on order as soon as Uncle Sam gets done raping me.

Check out the chippewa site. They must be scared to list their prices. Couldn' t find them anywhere. I had heard that the standard wedgelok was $200+.

The Chippewa is the way to go in my opinion. They may be a little pricey but definately worth the money. My days of fighting with T-Screws are over. You can put this stand in almost any tree and make it work. It' s worth looking into, I promise ya!

My friend bought a lonewolf a while back, He told me that is the quitest treestand he has ever had to get up a tree , and it is really fast going up too. I felt it and it is one of the lightest climbers i have ever felt, and it is really compact too.

I' ve looked into the Chippewa stands and they look great. I was just comparing the cost to the function and it looked to me as if your getting basically the same concept with less cost(ie stand & accessories) with the Lone Wolf. Like most things you get what you pay for so I was curious if anyone had experiences good or bad. I appreciate all the replies.
