Default Guys....I bought some cedar shafts..oh no!!

Boys....I'm 33 nowand grew up thumping whitetails since 1986 with osage stick bows and longbows...I bought some cedar shafts off ebay with some MA3 broadheads (this week)...I'm thinking of whacking something on video with my longbow this fall....I will still carry the compound on other hunts........

What are your thoughts.???...I just feel like I want to re-kindled some of my early years...back to the basics...I need a little twist this year....mix-in it up.....

Again - Your thoughts???

My longbow doe in 1996

If a 170 walks passed me I might.....well...I better just double lung it.....because I know the confidence that lies within my HOYT....darn technology!!

Go for it. I think it shows maturity. You seem to sense that there is more to hunting then just killing.

Sweet.

I think that will be my next project (well after I start stripping, grinding and cutting my own wild turkey feathers LOL)
I want to start making nice cedar arrows with homemade feathers.
I would really like to learn how to make "footed" shafts.

As if I don't have enough frickin hobbies.

MAtt/PA ---- Magic Man....

Thanks for the feedback...

Turkey starts in May for me....lets keep in touch....If you don't have any yourself....

If I'm lucky...I'll mail you some wing feathers....dont get me started ...I did it once with cedar wrapped in sinew with flint....the deer only went 20 yards....make a hole in the vitals...deer bleeds...just like it does with a 12 dollar Muzzy.....

I wish the Indians from the 1700's had the forum....

I like chatting with you guys!

Awesome man thanks! Appreciate that...........if I had to rely on myself for wild turkey feathers I'd be tuning bareshafts for broadheads as we speak.

I'm going to try for a turkey this spring. I'm trying to talk my friend into letting me use my bow. I think he will agree as long as we take a gun as well. I have turkey hunted in the past - no luck. The coolest thing about turkey hunting is listening to them gobble in the roost. I would get up at 3 am just to hear that!

Matt - I'm no master turkey hunter...however I just sealed a spot to hunt turkeylast year...I killed a 25 pound tom with an 11 inch beard with about 2 hours of scouting...(with that being said, I think this area will stay consistent year after year...there are birds heavy in this area))

I think she will welcome me back this year to this spot.......if I get a bird we should keep in touch....email me and I'll store you in my email....I can send you the wings...either way its good to keep in contact...

I'm on here every night...its a routine now and the wife still loves me for it...so...I keep coming back!
