have you seen much of a difference in trophy potential where you bowhunt/gunhunt?
im not a huge fan of it being a law, and they're really trying to expand it here in missouri. i think were doing pretty good on trophys as it is though.

Yes. Hands down, night and day. So many more deer make it to 2.5 years old, and then they get smarter and more wary. You have a realistic chance at a mature deer now, whereas in years past, it was a "one in a million" chance.

A 4 pt rule?? What excactly you talkin, a western count 4 on one side or 4 total pts. I guess it doenst matter much cuz both laws are litterally pointlest because there is tons of 1 1/2 year old deer that meet both requirements. Also yeah I agree it shouldn't be a law even though I'm all about management cuz meat hunters shold be allowed to shoot what they want. WCL

I live and hunt in a 3pt on a sideminimum WMU. In Pa there are only 5, if I'm not mistaken, WMU's that have a 4pt to a side minimum. I wishmyWMU would become the 6th.

I'm from MO too and I think it's a great idea. We already have big deer, but hunting public land will help hunters see bigger bucks too.

ya i guess the public land is a big one. i only hunt private unless its a managed hunt i get drawn for. where i hunt we have great trophy potential already, as long as you practice QDM, which i think enough guys do that it shouldnt be a law. also think of all the kids (and adults) that are going for their first deer, do you think they wanna pass up a buck? the same with elderly folks that cant get around that good anymore. i also dont know many people that would pass this buck up. aged at 3.5 (which its a fact IS a mature deer) its the buck on the right, a 6 my dad killed this year. mine on the left would barely be legal if there was a 4-point rule. ill also get a picture up later of a 5 my dad killed a while back thats aged at (by a biologist) 6.5 years old.
