What is the fastest you ever saw??
What's the fastest bow you ever saw on a chrono. Not one that your friend's unlce's brother shot in the next state over, but one that you witnessed. I saw a 322 fps, but I havn't seen many so, what ya got???
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
Lil' Bow Wow was the fasted Bow I've ever seen.
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
I saw a picture of 329:D
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
I shot an Airborne the other day at the shop with my 400 grn arrow @ 323 fps, pulling 76lbs. I don't know if it was the 82nd or 101st.
Just playin around. |
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
My current 3D set up is the fastest bow I've seen in person. 62lb 82nd Airborne, 314 grain CXL2 at 330 fps.:D As you can see, that's still over 5 grains per pound.
Any of us can see faster with fudged light arrows. ;) |
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
I seen High Country's new Speed Force shoot 349. I also seen a High Country Iron Mace shoot 367. Also, a few years ago at the ATA show, I seen a High Country Prototype shoot 407. All of these were with High Country's Speed Pro arrows, which is why they are so quick.

RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
The fastest measured "IBO" set up I have seen through a chrono is my new Airborne 82.
I put the 30" mods in (measured a hair UNDER, like 1/32 under 30") Set the draw weight to 70.3# on my digital scale and shot my 352 GT X-cutters through the chrono at 347fps. That's with just a brass nock on the string and I didn't do anything special to the timing or change strings etc. I heard of one Airborne 82 after some fine tuning doing 354fps at 30"/70# Anyone who quotes a speed, I don't wanna hear it unless you took the time to verify the actual measurements.....AMO draw length, draw weight and arrow weight at 5grs /lb of draw weight. LOL ;):D |
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
322fps back in 1996 out of my old Hoyt Defiant at 74 lbs. with 5 grain/lb. A/C Hyperspeeds.

RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
X Force, last week here at the shop. 29" at 72# hit 350. Consistent though at 345. We sent multiple arrows through to see the differences.
My Marquis hit 318.4 I was impressed with that. Remember 15 years ago... 280?!?!?!?! ![]() |
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
My X Force was shooting 309 fps with a 26" DL @ 73#. Now that I m shooting the correct arrow weight, Im shooting 285-289 fps. still 26" DL @ 73#.:D

I've read your numbers (and I own a Marquis myself) You might want to recalibrate that puppy or measure draw lengths and weights to verify. Honestly as much as I like the Marquis , it aint doin' 318+fps at 28", and neither is the X-force doing 350fps at 29" (especially a true measured 29") and doubly especially if you have anything on the string. If you extrapolate the Marquis out to a 30" draw you're talking an IBO rating in the 338-340fps range which is quite frankly impossible for that model. Even if you sprinkle fairy dust all overa barestring and shoot it from a car that's already going 20fps.;) That would make it the fastest single cam bow ever produced. Just keepin' it real man. I own and promote theDiamond Marquis on an official levelso don't kill the messenger! Just be aware of the numbers you are stating and think about if they even make sense. Knowledge is power.:) |
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
The X Force might do that if the arrow is way under weight.
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
The X Force might do that if the arrow is way under weight. I just know what those bows can and can't do and they aren't doing those numbers at those stated lengths/ weightsand 5grs / lb of draw weight, custom strings or not. And I'm not knocking them either. I think the Marquis is one of the nicest single cam bows I've ever owned! :) |
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
That was too funny.
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
Elite Synergy XT, couple weeks ago....hit 347 fps....now, this particular guy has a 31" draw....but still....that was a 6 gpp arrow....Pretty impressive.

RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
My hunting buddy Has a Iron Mase and shoots the HCA arrow's at 68lb and the crono at the tecno hunt said he was shooting 369 with 100 grain tips. Way fast![8D]
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
My fastest bow was a HCA Max force. 60 lbs@ 30 inch draw, shooting ACC 3-18s weighing 302 grains. It went 321, this was in 1997. It still own the bow and it is my main hunting bow.
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
Believe me or not on this one, but the fastest I have seen was a buddy of mine bought a PSE(from wal mart i believe) Nova maybe?
Anyhow it shot 315fps , 30'' 70lbs.draw I believe wth Wal-Mart arrows not sure what kind... he shot it at a hoyt shop and they could not believe it so they made him shoot a few more times and it was consistent! That was with a tube peep and the puffy rubber silencers on the bow as well! My Martin Jaguar was at 268 and my brothers bowtech mighty mite was at 280ish..... so you should have seen our reaction when he shot his bow that fast!!! |

RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
We have run the X-Force at 29" 71 lbs and it is consistantly running 248.
The APA came in at 246 same setup. |
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
246, 248 ??? What, with a 550 gr arrow??
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
Im getting 297 with my new drenalin. I love it!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
Last fall I shot an Iron Mace through the chrono at 347, fastest I have ever seen or shot (in person). Tuesday night I saw an 82nd Airborne do 332.
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
Again, like Matt suggested/requested. What arrow weights are coming at these speeds. I'd be curious to see how many are manipulated under 5 grains per pound?
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
WE GOT MY BUDDIES XF UP TO 329FPS AT 29INCH DRAW, 70, 364 ARROW. THAT'S DARN FAST FOR ME.THE PRO SHOP HE BOUGHT IT FROM GOT THE 29DL XF UP TO 348 WITH AN UNDER WEIGHT X WEAVE ARROW:D. WE NEVER HAD THE CHANCE TO SEE WHAT THE XF WOULD DO AT 70,30DL AND 350 ARROW . HIS HUNTING SPEED IS 319 AT 29DL 70 AND 389GRAIN ARROW. STILL FAST FOR A HUNTING RIG.

RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
last time i saw a chrono reading was back in the 90's :eek:I had an Indian paragon bow, complete with a high countryoverdraw, and rediculasy short arrows :DIt was a 70-80# bow, i was shooting 75#'s and it would spit out 248 fps, i thought that was smoking for its time :eek:I usually dont get into the high tech side of things now, if it gets the job done then its good enough for me :D

RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
I'm sure everyone was waiting for me to chime in here... So I will.
![]() If I used the 55 grain broadheads that I have, I could be hunting at that speed. But, my hunting heads are 30 grains bigger, so my speed dips down to the 350 range for deer hunting. That's at 29" 70#, with an arrow weighing somewhere around 250 grains. HCA Iron Mace, Speed Pro 5.5. On over 7" of brace height. I should notethat theCrazy-fastQueen Mother of all Rocket Arrows wasn'tjust a one-time thing where I stood back, closed my eyes and fired - just to see how fast I could make it go (hoping my bow didn'texplode).I canshoot that arrow all day long. Hell, I hunted with it. LOL |

I've seen a lot of bows that will shoot faster than that with those weight arrows.[8D]I've shot a lot of Speed bows down through the years and I've never shot a smoother, faster, handshock free bow as the Airborne 82. Mine is pushing a Legal arrow 318fps at 28" draw and 60# Dan |

It's called a "magnetic sweeper." It will help you pick up all the pieces that are too small to find with the naked eye. ![]() And this suit of armor should protect you from flying debris. ![]() |
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
LOL!! I knew a guy shot a Black Knight in the 380's with light arrows, he never had a need for armor[8D]Any sissy can get speeds with too light arrows. It takes a Man's bow to do it with Legal weight arrows;)
250 grain arrows now there's some sissy arrows[8D] If you think your bow is immune to a Blowup, better think again:D Dan |

Am I the one??!!Did I get Quicksilver to post??!!! Oh my gosh!!! What do I win??!!! oh please let it be an 82nd Airborne!!!..........:)

RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
I must be living in the dark ages. My hunting arrows are sailing along at about 260 fps. The fastest arrow I have ever personally seen chronoed was 289 - Bowtech Guardian with 370 grain arrows. The highest speed I ever seen a chrono screen was 4397. It was a my old 6MM-284 shooting the new 55 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips :).
|
RE: What is the fastest you ever saw??
I've seen my Mace hit 337 while being over 5gr/#. 29.5" draw 320 gr arrow, 63.1#s. Plenty fast enough for me.

From the jist of this post.. I think if you aren't shooting a Bowtech then you are obviously cheating. |

Can you imagine the speeds MOST manufacturers would reach and thusly, "falsely advertise" shooting a 250 grain arrow. Manufacturers could invent any speed they wish. |
