I guess my 2007 buck would be my biggest accomplisment if we're talking something on the wall,even though technically it was about a dozen separate lucky events wrapped into one and I found myself in the middle of it with a bow in my hand. LOL

One of the things I am most proud of was not forcing a shot on a true Illinos monster buck4 yrs ago. I had him at 18 yds broadside (probably a 160+ ten pt) but there was just enough junk in the way that I couldn't clear it safely and get to the vitals no matter how hard I tried.I had a clear shot at his guts and butt but watched him trot off.
Trust me that was a seriously hard thing to do for a guy like me who had never seen a deer like that beyond magazines in his life........I can still see that rack trotting away after a doe and me left holding the bag.

Well, this will certainly be no surprise, but my biggest accomplishment is my first archery buck, killed during the 2007 season. Getting my son in the woods and his first buck are way up there, but since we're talking about us personally.....this is it. Story can be read here:

My biggest accomplishment has been becoming an accurate enough instinctive shot to hunt with my recurve. It took about a year and a half, but I'm finally there and I'm proud of myself.
