Ask permision or dont gripe when you get shot or put in jail. Im so sick of people treaspassing on my land, i have no sympathy for low life trespasser. Illegal is illegal. There is no shade of gray. Im very glad Texas has beefed up its trespassing a poaching laws.

I know where there is a monster buck but it is on federal property and posted. I am a federal employee, but there is no hunting allowed there. I know other military bases open their land up to hunters, but not this one.

I am a landowner and work in conjunction with two other land owners around my place. We post our land. We have no choice here. During rifle season, if we dont, we get guys shooting towards our homes and from off the roadways. When I come across private property I respect it and stay the heck out, no matter how big of a buck lives there.

tsoc - In my state I havn't broken a law if the land is unimproved,if it is not posted I can enter it,until requested not to by the land owner.
I live in NY as well and what you say is techically true.
However, I will not go where I do not have permission to be, so whether or not a property is considered "unimproved" is of no bearing to me.
Also the remoteness or accesibility of a property has NOinput on someones legal right to be there.
You have permission or you don't - this is as black or white as it gets.

As I stated earlier I am not asking for yours or anyone else's opinion, technically the law is on my side and that is good enough for me and has to be good enough for any one else!
I am a partner in a business and I wont take a stamp from the business without paying for it,or a ream of paper home without paying for it.I would suggest that from an honesty perspective most folks would not come close to the standards I hold myself to.I could say any thing in a setting like this and who would be the wiser! I am telling the truth if you don't care for it,try to imagine how little that means to me!

And I was just outlining my limits -same as you.
I don't agree with the "unimproved" clause - leaves room for abuse (not accusing anyone).
That's way I go a step beyond - permission or I don't belong there.

I do hope no one misunderstood my earlier post about trespassing with the use of good smoke bombs. It was clearly a joke.

I would seek permission always.. and always have.

I am not trying to hijack the thread, but if the land is not posted would you consider that trespassing.
