It's not evenquestionable in my mind.We as humanshave the ability to think with reason. If it were your dog, horse Or any other animal you care about you do not make them suffer.
A quick bullet will cause the inevitable ,just painlessly.
I tend to agree with you but the dog or horse, etc. is your property. The deer is the states property. Just likewe can't kill someone else's dog or horse because it is suffering because it is their property then.......

Well, I called the wildlife officer for my area. He took today off, is off this weekend, and the office is closed on Monday. Of course. I should have seen that coming[&:]

Ma'nature rears her head and it's not always pretty.I saw a young one last weekend all gimped up also.We as people want to fix all the wrongs but often we shouldn't.IMO Let nature take it's course and think twice on iffs shots is the best we can do.

You know, that is really the least of my concerns. I'll pay the fine if I have to, but in all reality I bet the game warden wouldn't really care anyway. Mine is more a morals than legal issue. I don't know if I would rather let nature be nature, or if I should do something to "help nature" which sounds rather arrogant to say. I don't know.

I knowthat sort of thingbothers you/us aswe genuinely care about the animals we hunt, (which is hard for many non/anti-hunters to understand or comprehend)........but nature isn't a coloring book. Let it take it's course.
Sad though it is, I agree. You never know what other critter you may be saving by allowing it to be caught and eaten....Sadly, this doe isn't the only suffering critter in the woods, maybe this needs to happen to save something else....It's hard, I know. I don't like to see them suffer either.

Can call fish n game, and they may issue a tag/ shoot the doe, I'd try them first.

I was driving down the street with my two small kids two years ago when I saw a doe pulling itself across the road, with its back broken. She pulled herself to the side of the road and just laid there most of the time, sometimes thrashing around trying to walk. There were hundreds of cars driving by every ten minutes, but none stopped to "help" her. Luckily I had just come in from bowhunting and had my bow with me. I drove right past the doe because I did not want my kids to see what I was about ready to do...but I turned around through traffic and parked my truck so that noone would see the "kill".....I am not much of a religous man but I tell you what, when I took my bow out and knocked it with an arrow, that doe looked at me with a look that said "please help me"....I shot her and ended her suffering. I know I broke some laws about not shooting within a 100 yards of a road, and shooting on private property....but I could not take it.

I say ask the DNR for assistance and possibly show them the pictures. Maybe even ask them if they would like to kill the doe. It says alot to me that you are concerned about this animal.

I would have to put her down, no animal should have to go threw life like that. If you do call the game warden it would be legal. At least she would be out of her misery.
