I was looking through my trail cam pics from the last couple of weeks and I saw numerous pictures of a fawn doe whose rear left leg is dead. The leg is swollen, the hair is falling off, the skin is discolored and quite nasty. It is not mangled as if it was broken, it just seems it got some terrible infection that is definitely going to kill her. So, there inlies the dilema. Should I shoot her out of season, obviously breaking the law,to put her out of her misery, or do I just let nature take its course? I am really torn by this. It is hard to see an animal suffering like that. Especially one that I have such an affinity towards. So, what would you do?
I was going to post pics, but it really is something you don't want to see. It is disgusting.

I knowthat sort of thingbothers you/us aswe genuinely care about the animals we hunt, (which is hard for many non/anti-hunters to understand or comprehend)........but nature isn't a coloring book. Let it take it's course.

Anyone can hate me for this if they want to but I would take the animal and not let it suffer. Its kind of like a dog would you let your dog continue to live like this or would you put it down or take it to the vet. Well last time I check its kind of hard to get a deer to the vet and even then you would never be able to get the deer back in the general population after that. Respect what you hunt and that deer put it down.

Go squirrle hunting and make some coyete bait, its the right thing to do. If you don't a slow painfull death by getting toar apart by coyotes is the only fait she will have. Make it quick and the coyotes will still get theirs.

Contact the DNR and let them know whats going on. They may let you take her out and it would be legal.

If they don't allow you to do anything then.........

It's not evenquestionable in my mind.We as humanshave the ability to think with reason. If it were your dog, horse Or any other animal you care about you do not make them suffer.
A quick bullet will cause the inevitable ,just painlessly.
