Deer lease opportunity....What would you say?

I would go check it out. Don't let the baiting bother you, it will just keep the deer in the general area a bit longer and they will probably pass through your areagetting to these food sources. Just be prepared, everything will not be perfect but you will have another option for hunting.

Jeff, man you could have worked that peice, a couple of food plots and well placed stands. It would have spread your pressure and led to more deer sightings, even if you did not see that many deer on it. I wouldve just asked to see it before you put down money and walk the tract over real good. IT is not a bad price either, really. Thats my .02 cents.

I would say that you walked away from a pretty good deal. Almost all of the clubs around here are done that way. And some land here is going for $45/ac.
Most of the clubs that are ran like that keep it at 200-250ac a member.

Here's the deal.....
My barber is a pretty well respected guy around here. He knows a lot of well to do business types.....and these are the guys in on this lease. I'm sure there's a big contingency of them that are: 1. Strictly gun hunters 2. Bait hunter, strictly 3. "casual" hunters etc...etc...etc...
Might not be a bad deal. And....it would be something I could control. Never know what could happen here....and I'd still have "here".
I might only get to go 15 days there, though........and then I'd have it for turkey hunting, too.
That makes it a little more expensive looking, huh???....lol
I can hunt, here.....morning and afternoons, some days. I got in 48 hunts, last year.
We'll see. I'm gonna go look at it. NO SUNDAY HUNTING in NC. Tract is 1 hour from my home......but it has a lodge to stay in.....if I wanted to.

I would say if ya like the land go for it. If not, then don't. Simple.
What I would like to know is why all the fuss about "the other guys baiting"?
So, you think you would be at a disadvantage?
come on man. I live in an area where almost everyone baits. I don't feel like I'm at a disadvantage at all. Most of the people who live in non-baiting states and have never done it think that corn is like the magical golden pellet that you throw out and deer just flock to it.....man do i wish it was that easy.
