Personally I try to pick a spot and stare only at that spot.

I pick a spot on the deer where the arrow is going to go in and try to invision the best spot for it to come out. That is how i decide where to shoot. I know the anatomy of deer so depending on the angle of the shot I adjust, and put my pins accordingly to where it is going to come out. So, I do pick a spot on the deer, but not a single hair. If you say you are picking a single hair out to aim at, I'm calling BS Unless the deer is like 5 yards away.

It's kinda' fun to read all of the varying answers to thisquestion. Last year was my first year bow hunting. One piece of advice that I read on here I really took to heart. That was "aim for the exit hole". I do pick a spot, but it's not one I can see. On each of the four deer I killed, I was aiming for the "imagined" spot where I wanted the arrow to exit after doing the most damage. All I can say is that it worked for me.

Man when I started this I wasn't expecting this kind of response. I think that it's wild to see how passionate people are about thier opinions. I wonder if some of y'all are this argumentative with your wives?????

I always shoot for where I want my arrow to exit. I try to aim for the arrow to exit at the off side front leg.
